BIG STORMS ACROSS THE REGION… The storms near Mobile, the Causeway, and Spanish Fort are producing quite a bit of cloud-to-ground lightning and very heavy rain. Small hail has also been reported… See the tweet below for a picture of the hail that is falling near Downtown Mobile. I just received a video from Bruce Thompson from the Bluegill Restaurant on the Causeway near Spanish Fort showing extremely heavy rain and lots of lightning happening. These storms will continue to slide south across the Eastern Shore region. A Special Marine Warning is now in effect for Mobile Bay and the entirety of the Alabama Gulf Coast due to these southward-moving storms.
Storms are also firing near Elsanor, Point Clear, Summerdale, and Loxley in Baldwin County. These storms will also move south toward Gulf Shores, Foley, and Orange Beach. There are also storms producing heavy rain in northern Mobile County near Calvert, Citronelle, Earlville, and Turnerville.
Storms will slowly fade over the next few hours as we lose daytime heating. A drier Monday is ahead!
