There are a few isolated showers and thunderstorms that continue across south Alabama and northwest Florida early this evening, but vast majority of us are under partly cloudy skies. We note one small shower happening near Georgiana in Butler County, a cluster of storms near Deerland along I-10 just east of Crestview in Okaloosa/Walton counties, sprinkles of rain happening near Perdido and Tensaw in northern Baldwin County, and a growing thunderstorm near Frankville in Washington County. The heaviest rain in our region is happening near Campbell in northwest Clarke County. That complex of storms is approaching Butler and Pennington from the south.
Storms will continue to pop up and fade away over the next few hours. Severe weather is not expected, but a few of the storms could produce heavy rain and lots of lightning. I’ll be watching radar trends.
