SCATTERED STORMS AHEAD OF GORDON… Scattered showers and thunderstorms are popping up out ahead of the main rain shield associated with Tropical Storm Gordon. This may be a bit confusing, but these pop-up storms are not associated with the core of Gordon. They’re the seabreeze-induced thunderstorms that are common in the summertime around here. Scattered storms will be possible across the region this afternoon.

TORNADO RISK UPDATE… While the tornado risk is starting at the immediate coastline, so far we have not seen any significant issues. None of the storms in the first outer rain bands have been rotating. That’s good news, but likely a trend that won’t continue very long. If we have tornadoes, we will instantly go into our live streaming video coverage.
