10PM MONDAY ADVISORY
MICHAEL IS STRONGER, YET AGAIN… The latest (10PM) advisory is in for Hurricane Michael. The latest projected path/cone of uncertainty is in the graphic above. Maximum winds are now pegged at 90 mph, making it a high-end category 1 hurricane. Don’t be surprised if Michael strengthens some more overnight. We very well could wake up to a system that has strengthened into a major hurricane.
FORECAST REMAINS ON TRACK… The projected path from the earlier advisories is largely unchanged with the core of a powerful, category 3 Hurricane Michael most likely to move onshore in the Florida Panhandle. Landfall could occur anywhere from Navarre eastward to Cedar Key, Florida, although at this moment, the greatest likelihood of landfall will be near Panama City. Obviously that could change in the hours ahead as new data comes in.
HURRICANE WARNINGS CONTINUE… Basically the entirety of northwest Florida and much of the Florida Panhandle are included in a Hurricane Warning. Geneva and Houston counties in southeast Alabama are also included in the Hurricane Warning. These are the areas that are most likely to see high winds in the next 48 hours as Michael roars ashore.
NEXT VIDEO… My next video will be posted by 8:00AM on Tuesday. I usually have the video up by 7:15AM, but there’s a high chance that we’ll be awaiting some final data to get into the video that may cause it to be uploaded a bit later than that.
LAST MEDIUM-LEVEL ALERT FOR TONIGHT… Per our usual policy, since we do not have hazardous weather in the area tonight, this is the last Medium-Level Alert that will be sent out this evening. More Medium-Level Alerts will be sent out on Tuesday, no earlier than 8AM.
