ALL SUNSHINE TODAY; NICE FEW DAYS AHEAD… Our weather pattern remains nice, sunny, and mild today and over the next few days. High temperatures this afternoon will peak around the 80 degree mark with an abundance of sunshine. Sunny days and clear nights are expected Monday into Tuesday as well. We’re monitoring Tropical Storm Oscar in the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean and we’re looking ahead to yet another gorgeous weekend. Let’s talk details…
NEXT RAIN CHANCE: MIDWEEK… Showers and thunderstorms will increase in number on Wednesday ahead of a significant (80-90%) chance of rain on Thursday. This rain is response to a cold front that will move in from our northwest, bringing more cool, refreshing air to the area by Friday. For now, severe weather parameters remain low with no signficiant issues expected with this next weathermaker. We’ll be watching trends carefully in the next few days.
TROPICAL STORM OSCAR… Oscar became a tropical storm late on Saturday, transitioning from a subtropical storm. The system has maximum sustained winds near 70 mph, meaning Oscar is on the cusp of becoming a hurricane. Oscar will move west today, tomorrow, and on Tuesday before making a sharp right turn to the north late in the day on Tuesday. Once the system turns, it will accelerate out to sea and quickly become extratropical by the end of the week. No direct U.S. impacts are expected.
FANTASTIC WEEKEND AHEAD… Looking ahead to the upcoming weekend, high temperatures will be seasonal (60s and 70s) with plenty of sunshine expected.
