WET, COLD, RAW TUESDAY; DRIER DAYS BY THURSDAY… It’s a rare day indeed when temperatures decrease ALL day. What some would call a miserable, cold rain is ahead across our region today. We have had our technical high temperature already (67 around midnight this morning) and temperatures are now on a decline that will last through Wednesday morning. This is because a cold front has moved across our area and cool, stable air is moving in. We’ve got one more day of rain on Wednesday before cool, dry air settles in for several days. Let’s talk details…

COLD & WET TODAY & WEDNESDAY… Temperatures will fall to around the 50 degree mark by Noon today with widespread showers around. There is no severe weather risk today as much more stable air is in place across our region. Heavy rain could lead to scattered instances of flash flooding across the region. Wednesday will be very similar to today with numerous showers and cold temperatures.

SEVERAL SUNNY DAYS AHEAD… The real “fall like” weather will kick off on Thursday when clouds move out, paving the way for a slew of sunny days and clear nights. Overnight lows will be in the 30s by Friday morning with high temperatures struggling to hit 60 both on Thursday and on Friday. The weekend will see moderating temperatures with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s.

TROPICAL UPDATE… We continue to monitor the area of low pressure branded as INVEST 96L north of the Leeward Islands in the tropical Atlantic Ocean. This system will continue to move northwest in the days ahead. The National Hurricane Center says it has an 80% chance of becoming a tropical storm before turning out to sea this weekend. No direct impacts for the continential United States are expected.
