PARTLY CLOUDY MONDAY; FEW SHOWERS LATER THIS EVENING… Cloud coverage will be on the increase on this Monday as a shortwave trough approaches from our west. Vast majority of us will be DRY today and tonight, but there could be a few tiny showers over Washington, Choctaw, Clarke, Mobile, and Marengo counties in west Alabama. Temperatures will peak around 71° in most spots across our local area today. No severe weather is expected over the next 72 hours. Let’s look ahead to the remainder of the week…
FEW SHOWERS TUESDAY MORNING… Cooler, drier air will infiltrate into the local area on Tuesday afternoon behind a cold front that is slated to move by early Tuesday morning. There could be a few showers around south Alabama and northwest Florida, particularly near the coast on Tuesday morning. These showers will progressively move eastward throughout the morning. The entire region should be dry again by Tuesday evening.
RAIN CHANCES INCREASE BY FRIDAY… Wednesday will be sunny, Thanksgiving Day will be partly cloudy with a few showers around (20% chance of rain Thursday), with Black Friday being potentially quite wet across our region. An area of low pressure will develop in the western Gulf of Mexico, moving eastward by Friday. This will usher in moist air from the Gulf, paving the way for rain on Friday into Saturday.
WET IRON BOWL POSSIBLE… We continue to monitor the potential for rain happening in Tuscaloosa on Saturday as the Auburn Tigers take on the Alabama Crimson Tide. For now, we’ll call it a 40% chance of rain with temperatures likely in the 50s/60s.
