CLOUDY SKIES LIKELY THROUGH MONDAY… Large snow totals are happening to our northeast in parts of North Carolina and Virginia, yet NO snow or mixed precipitation will happen over the next 7-10 days across south Alabama and northwest Florida. Cold, dreary conditions are expected to continue this evening into the overnight hours and extending into Monday across the region. Keep the jackets handy! While the organized rain has moved well to our east, there could be a sprinkle or two before the end of the day. Let’s talk details…
NO SNOW EXPECTED LOCALLY… Several people have asked about the potential for snow and/or mixed precipitation for the next week or so. There is no indication in model data that our area will have any wintry precip in the next 7-10 days. I assume people are seeing some of the beautiful video coming in from the mid-Atlantic region and wondering will our area get any of the white stuff. The answer, for now, is a definite NO. We’ll keep you posted.
CLOUDS TO LINGER INTO MONDAY… Temperatures will remain quite chilly over the next 48 hours. Clouds will continue to wrap around an area of low pressure to our east, keeping our skies mainly overcast for Monday. Clouds finally begin to move out early on Tuesday, which will be our next mostly sunny day.
NEXT RAIN CHANCE ON THURSDAY… We’re always looking ahead to the next potential weathermaker! Our next rain chance locally will happen on Thursday when scattered showers return. For now, severe weather parameters with that upcoming system seem very low. Good news!
