APPARENT 5TH MINOR EARTHQUAKE… There have been numerous reports of ground shaking and houses shaking on this Sunday morning in/near Jay, Mt. Carmel, and Pollard. This is likely due to another minor earthquake. The likely minor earthquake happened at approximately 6:51AM. The reports of shaking were concentrated in southern Escambia County, AL near Pollard, Foshee, and Welka and northern Santa Rosa County, FL near Jay and Mt. Carmel. Unlike the last few small earthquakes, I’ve also had two reports of ground shaking near Whitfield and Point Baker. If confirmed, this will be the 5th minor earthquake this month for these areas.

USGS CONFIRMATION IN PROGRESS… I have been in contact with the U.S. Geological Survey this morning. Scientists at USGS are reviewing applicable seismology data to confirm this likely 5th minor earthquake. I’ll let you know when we have confirmation here on Facebook and in the RedZone Weather app. redzoneweather.com/app is the link for our free app download. Be sure to download it today and set up your customized alerts.

Let me know if/where you felt the ground shaking this morning by commenting here! It’s helpful to have a wide variety of reports from across the area.
