SLIGHTLY WARMER TUESDAY; STORMS RETURN THURSDAY EVENING… We’re looking ahead to an unsettled weather pattern set to begin Thursday and extend into the weekend. Isolated strong storms may happen Thursday into Friday as an area of low pressure approaches from the west. No significant weather issues are expected on this Tuesday as temperatures continue to slowly climb. Today, high temperatures will be in the low-70s. Let’s discuss a few weather headlines…
DRY THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT… We’ll call today (Tuesday) “mild” as high temperatures reach the low-70s. Warmer temperatures are expected on Wednesday with highs near 75-76°. No rain is expected today or Wednesday but rain is slated to return to the local area on Thursday.
RAIN CHANCES INCREASE THURSDAY… Showers and a few thunderstorms will become possible on Thursday. Rain chances will be greatest during the evening hours between 4PM and 9PM. The Storm Prediction Center continues to outline much of Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas in their Level 2 (out of 5) slight risk zone for the severe weather potential on Friday. I wouldn’t be shocked if SPC has our area included in the low-end, Level 1 (out of 5) risk zone by the time you’re seeing this video. That means that a few strong to severe storms will be possible Thursday evening, mainly over western stretches of Alabama closer to the AL/MS state line.
UNSETTLED WEEKEND AHEAD; MUCH WARMER… Showers and storms will remain possible as we head into the weekend. High temperatures will soar into the mid-80s by Saturday as a warm, moist airmass takes hold of our weather pattern. Overnight lows will likely be in the 60s.
HIGH LEVEL ALERT TEST TOMORROW (WEDNESDAY)… We will have a High-Level Alert Test this Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 1PM CDT in the RedZone Weather app. The forecast for Wednesday is dry and nice, so we won’t have to reschedule this because of severe weather. You should receive a push notification at 1PM Wednesday if you have the RedZone Weather app installed on your iOS or Android device AND you have allowed the app to send push notifications. This test will be done on a quarterly basis going forward. After the test on Wednesday, April 3, the next one is scheduled for Wednesday, July 3. redzoneweather.com/app is the link where you can download the free RedZone Weather app.
I’ve got all the details and graphics for you in the Tuesday #rzw forecast video… Have a great day!
