TROPICAL STORM WATCH FOR LOUISIANA… The National Hurricane Center has issued the first advisory on Potential Tropical Cyclone (PTC) #2, which will likely become Tropical Storm Barry later today. They use the PTC designation so they can go ahead and issue tropical storm watches before the actual low-level circulation center has formed. PTC2/Barry is centered 170 southeast of the mouth of the Mississippi River, or about 120 miles south of Destin.
Tropical Storm Watches are now posted from Morgan City, Louisiana eastward to the mouth of the Mississippi River, south of Buras.
