STORMS MOVING NORTH… Heavy rain associated with thunderstorms is moving northward across the northern parts of Clarke, Monroe, and Conecuh counties as of 5:02PM. Heavy rain is also falling in parts of Covington, and southern Butler counties. These storms are progressively moving northward/inland. Intermittent downpours of heavy rain are likely over the next several hours as the outer rain bands of Tropical Storm Barry continue to move in.

TORNADO RISK REMAINS VERY LOW… There continues to be a very low-end risk of a tornado or two this evening, but only in the immediate coastal zones south of Interstate 10. There basically is zero/very very little tornado risk for inland areas right now. The tornado risk will be somewhat higher (although still quite low) across inland areas of southwest Alabama on Saturday.
