SCATTERED STORMS TODAY; HOT DAYS AHEAD… Many spots across south Alabama and northwest Florida will remain dry today with building heat and humidity likely throughout the day. We’ll call it a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly for communities across west Alabama. High temperatures will vary quite a bit with some spots in west Alabama not getting out of the mid-80s due to all of the clouds around. Some spots to the east like Andalusia, Destin, Crestview, and Greenville will hit the low-90s today. That temperature variance will go away on Tuesday as the influence of the remnants of Tropical Storm Barry continue to lift to the north. We’re slated to return to seasonal (hot, humid, P.M. storms) summer weather across the region starting Tuesday. Let’s talk details…

DRIER THROUGH THURSDAY; HOT… Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will feature low (not zero) rain chances each day. High temperatures will consistently be in the mid-90s with morning lows in the mid-70s. Back to our “summer normal.”

MORE SHOWERS & STORMS AROUND THIS WEEKEND… Early model indications point to increased chances for rain and thunderstorms this weekend, primarily in the afternoon and evening hours of Saturday and Sunday. This is something we’ll monitor over the next few days and bring you the latest in the RedZone Weather app and in our daily forecast videos.

FINAL ADVISORY ISSUED ON TROPICAL DEPRESSION BARRY… Barry weakened to a tropical depression on Sunday evening. The National Hurricane Center issued its final advisory on the system at 10PM last evening. Barry peaked on Saturday as a category 1 hurricane as it moved onshore near Intracoastal City, Louisiana.

TROPICS ARE QUIET… Now that Barry is off the board, our focus will be on the tropical waves emerging from the African continent over the next few weeks. The National Hurricane Center says tropical storm formation is not expected over the next 5-7 days.

See all the details in your Monday #rzw forecast video… Have a great week!
