BEAUTIFUL, COOL SUNDAY; QUIET WEATHER DAYS AHEAD… You’ll be hard pressed to find any clouds in the sky this afternoon into this evening across Alabama and northwest Florida as clear skies are in place across our region. There are some cirrus clouds passing just to our south over the northern Gulf but these are clouds high in the atmosphere that are not capable of producing rain. Our next serious chance of rain happens late Thursday into Friday as an area of low pressure approaches from our west. Before we get there, a streak of nice, quiet weather days are coming up through Wednesday. Let’s look at your forecast details.
CLEAR SKIES TONIGHT WITH LOWS IN 40s… Since we lost daylight saving time, sunset this evening will happen at 4:58PM. Temperatures will decline into the upper-40s by 8PM. We’re headed to an overnight low around 40-42° in most spots by Monday morning at 6AM. Mostly clear skies are expected in the evening with clouds increasing early Monday morning.
INCREASING CLOUDINESS ON MONDAY… Cloud coverage will steadily increase on Monday and there could be a shower or two Monday evening at the immediate beach zones. Vast majority of us will remain dry and have no rain through Thursday evening, but I can’t rule out a shower or two late Monday at the coast. Most of the showers will remain offshore late Monday.
TEMPERATURES CREEP UP FOR TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY… Temperatures will be in the mid-70s on Tuesday and upper-70s on Wednesday with partly cloudy skies each day. Overnight lows will rise into the 50s.
SHOWERS RETURN LATE THURSDAY… We could have a few showers around as early as Thursday evening as an area of low pressure approaches from the west. For now, it appears much of the daytime hours on Thursday should be dry with increasing cloudiness ahead of this next weathermaker.
SHOWERS & STORMS ON FRIDAY… Rain and storms will move across our region on Friday as an area of low pressure passes right over us. The low pressure area will be moving from west to east. This feature will have a trailing cold front that will cause temperatures to be cooler for the upcoming weekend. Rain could be heavy at times on Friday, but for now severe weather parameters seem very low. This is something we’ll be monitoring in the next few days. Be sure to check back with me later this week for the very latest.
COOL, DRY WEEKEND… After the passage of the cold front, cool, dry conditions will be in place for Saturday and Sunday. Mostly sunny skies are expected each day with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s.
EARLY LOOK: ALABAMA VS. LSU… One of the biggest games of the college football season so far happens this Saturday in Tuscaloosa as the Alabama Crimson Tide hosts the LSU Tigers. Kickoff is at 2:30PM and the game will be televised on CBS local stations. The weather in Tuscaloosa for the game looks seasonal with mostly sunny skies expected on Saturday. High temperatures will peak in the upper-50s with temperatures falling into the mid-40s by the end of the game. If you’re headed to the big game, be sure to pack the jackets, gloves, and hats! It will be cold, but most would say, “Perfect football weather.” Auburn is off this week. The next game for Auburn happens on November 16 as they host Georgia.
