WARMER TEMPS THIS WEEK; NICE CHRISTMAS FORECAST… Showers are on the way out this morning as we look ahead to a mild, dry Christmas and more rain upcoming by the end of the week. Clouds will persist across the region long after rain ends. High temperatures on this Monday will rise into the upper-50s. Some spots may hit 60 before 3PM. Midweek will be fairly quiet (and mild) but we have another round of active weather set to happen as we go into the upcoming weekend. Let’s look at details.

CLOUDS TODAY; WARMER TOMORROW… An area of low pressure will continue to move eastward today and away from our local area. This will bring rain chances down and allow for cool, dry air to move in. Fortunately, the clouds and dreariness will be gone on Christmas Eve! Mostly sunny skies are expected on Christmas Eve Tuesday as high temperatures rise into the upper-60s.

FORECAST FOR SANTA’S SLEIGH RIDE… Will Santa have a nice sleigh ride across south Alabama and northwest Florida on Tuesday night? YES! Temperatures will be in the 50s across our region all evening and all night as we go into Christmas Day. No rain (or snow!) issues are expected anywhere close by.

MILD ON CHRISTMAS DAY… Other than a few passing clouds during the afternoon hours, Christmas Day across much of Alabama and northwest Florida will be dry and fairly mild. High temperatures will be in the low-70s. We start the day in the upper-40s, but temperatures will quickly climb into the 60s by late morning. I don’t see any significant weather issues happening on Christmas Day across our region. Great news!

SHOWERS & STORMS POSSIBLE THIS WEEKEND… Our next rain chance will happen late on Friday evening ahead of a few showers and thunderstorms being possible this weekend. A strong cold front will approach the area from the northwest on Sunday. This feature could set off a few strong to severe storms across parts of the Deep South on Sunday or Sunday night. It’s too early for specifics/details, but models seem to be suggesting the possibility of a few strong storms. Something to watch over the next few days. Be sure to check back with me for the latest information later this week.
