MOSTLY CLOUDY & WARM TODAY; FEW SHOWERS THIS AFTERNOON… Clouds will hang tough on this Wednesday as temperatures build to near the 80 degree mark this afternoon. A warm, semi-unstable pattern has set up across our region and is here to stay for at least a week or so. One of the reasons we’re so warm with some humidity in place is because of the south winds that continue to stream in from the northern Gulf of Mexico. That trend is set to continue tomorrow and into the upcoming weekend. Let’s look at all of your forecast details.

PATCHY FOG OVERNIGHT… Just like this morning and last night, we could have patchy areas of dense fog across our region on Thursday morning. A Dense Fog Advisory was issued by the National Weather Service last night for Covington, Escambia (AL), AND all of our coastal counties. Fog could be dense at times in these same areas tonight into Thursday morning. If you’re driving overnight, factor in some extra time to account for this as visibility may be drastically reduced.

MORE CLOUDS ON THURSDAY; WARM TEMPS… Mostly cloudy skies will continue into Thursday with temperatures warming to around 80 degrees by early afternoon. Rain chances are very low (0-10%) on Thursday, meaning vast majority of us will remain dry. There could be some peeks of sunshine throughout the day. We will have a fairly strong south wind throughout the day on Thursday with gusts as high as 15-20 mph.

FEW SHOWERS ON FRIDAY… Isolated showers will return on Friday, but thunderstorm action should remain fairly limited. No severe weather is expected. High temperatures will again rise into the low-80s under mostly cloudy skies.

DRY SATURDAY; SHOWERS POSSIBLE SUNDAY… We’ll have more sunshine on Saturday compared to any other day in the 7 Day Forecast most likely as winds out of the south briefly subside and cloud cover diminishes somewhat. High temperatures on both Saturday and Sunday will be in the low- to mid-80s. Some spots on Sunday could make a run at 85 degrees! Rain chances on Sunday will be in the 20-30% chance range.

WARM, SOMEWHAT UNSETTLED PATTERN NEXT WEEK… Early indications point to Monday and Tuesday of next week featuring showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms. High temperatures will likely be in the low-80s with morning lows in the mid-60s.
