UNSEASONABLY WARM TODAY & SUNDAY… Temperatures will surge into the mid-80s this afternoon across south Alabama and northwest Florida as mostly cloudy skies remain in place across our region. There will be sunshine at times today, but probably more clouds than sun for much of the day. Rain chances remain very low today and tomorrow, but rain is set to return during the middle part of the upcoming week.

TEMPS TO REMAIN ABOVE AVERAGE… I see nothing to suggest an imminent dip in temperatures over the next 5-6 days. High temperatures are set to be in the low- to mid-80s each day through Friday with morning lows in the low- to mid-60s. There is some evidence to suggest we may have a brief cool down a week from today when high temperatures may drop into the 70s.

NICE, WARM SUNDAY… Partly cloudy skies are upcoming for Sunday, meaning a mix of sun and clouds for the afternoon and evening hours. High temperatures on Sunday will be in the 81-86° range with higher temperatures across inland areas.

CLOUDS INCREASE MONDAY… There is a good chance Monday will be quite similar to Sunday with high temperatures in the mid-80s and a mix of sun and clouds in place. Rain chances remain very low for Monday, but that begins to change on Tuesday.

RAIN & STORMS POSSIBLE TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY… Our next considerable chance of rain and thunderstorms will happen Tuesday into Wednesday as an area of low pressure approaches from the west. It is too early to know whether severe storms will be an issue locally. It is the month of March in the Deep South, meaning this system is one we will need to watch. Primary severe weather season continues through the end of April.

I’ll have updates in the RedZone Weather app throughout the day as needed. Let me know if you have specific weather-related questions. Have a great weekend!
