SHOWERS AND STORMS MOVING IN… Several showers and thunderstorms are approaching southwest Alabama from southeast Mississippi late on this Saturday evening. Heavier rain is happening across parts of George and Jackson counties in SE Mississippi. These storms are noisy and producing loud thunder. Heavy rain will be possible in the next hour across the Mobile metro, Mobile County, and perhaps near the Alabama beaches as rain and storms slide by. The overall risk of any severe weather issues tonight into Sunday morning (through 11AM) remains very low to near zero in most spots. Any storms that ramp up to strong levels tonight could produce briefly gusty winds and large hail, in addition to cloud-to-ground lightning. The tornado risk through 11AM Sunday remains very low, if not at zero for most spots. The tornado risk will expontentially increase Sunday afternoon into the evening hours.
