NICE START TO THE WEEK; SHOWERS POSSIBLE ON WEDNESDAY… Temperatures will approach 90 degrees this afternoon with full sunshine on the docket for south Alabama and northwest Florida. Cloud coverage will increase on Tuesday (although no rain is expected until Wednesday morning) ahead of showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms becoming possible on Wednesday as a frontal boundary slides by our region. Slightly cooler temperatures will be the story on Thursday and Friday ahead of more showers becoming possible on Saturday. Let’s look at your forecast details.

FEW SHOWERS ON WEDNESDAY… There is a high chance that most areas will NOT have rain on Wednesday locally. There will be a few, highly isolated showers drifting southeast ahead of a weak cold front that will approach from the northwest. Widespread severe weather is not expected, but there could be gusty winds in any of the storms that manage to become a bit on the strong side.

WARM & DRY THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY… After the brief chance of rain on Wednesday, we dry out for the remainder of the work week. High temperatures on Thursday and Friday will drop into the 80s.

NO TROPICAL ISSUES… Despite the viral, misleading posts you may have seen on social media, there is a very high chance hurricane season will not be getting started early this year. For a full explanation of this, be sure to see my video discussion from last evening here.
