SCATTERED STORMS ACROSS THE REGION… Areas of heavy rain continue to pop up this afternoon across south Alabama and northwest Florida. The two areas of heaviest rain at the moment are happening near the Alabama beaches and separately, in a storm near Monroeville, Gosport, Mexia, Perdue Hill, and the US84 corridor in Monroe County. Storms are moving northwest today, being steered from afar by the large counterclockwise circulation of Tropical Storm Hanna.

Widespread severe weather is not expected today, but storms will produce heavy rain at times across the region and potentially loud thunder (and dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning in the strongest storms).
