COLD DAY AHEAD OF VERY COLD TEMPERATURES TONIGHT… Grab the jackets and sweaters and keep them handy today! Temperatures will struggle to get to the 50 degree mark across our northern communities with most spots locally projected to have high temperatures in the low-50s. Tonight will be quite cold, with temperatures yet again below freezing. Any wind will make the air temperature feel even colder. Our next rain chance (not snow or wintry mix!) sets up late Wednesday night into Thursday as an area of low pressure gets set to move by our area.
FREEZE WARNING TONIGHT… Tonight will be the coldest night out of the next 7 days. Most locales across south Alabama and northwest Florida will have temperatures in the 20s by daybreak on Wednesday. This is why a Freeze Warning continues for the entire local area tonight.
FEW CLOUDS ON WEDNESDAY… Temperatures will begin to moderate a bit on Wednesday with highs expected to be in the upper-50s and near 60 in most spots. Mostly sunny skies are likely in the morning hours with increasing clouds late in the day. A few showers will become possible after sunset on Wednesday, primarily over west Alabama.
RAIN POSSIBLE THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY… An area of low pressure that is forecast to develop over Texas and Louisiana today into tomorrow will push into our area on Thursday. That is when we could have a few areas of rain around. Thursday nor Friday will be an “all day washout” but we could have some showers around at times. High temperatures will be around 60. It should be noted that no wintry precipitation or snow is expected as temperatures will simply be too warm. Severe weather looks highly unlikely as well.
DRY, MOSTLY SUNNY WEEKEND… Mostly sunny skies are in the forecast for Saturday and for Sunday. High temperatures will likely be in the 50s with morning lows in the 30s. Certainly nice to have a fairly quiet weather weekend upcoming!
