HARD FREEZE WARNING OVERNIGHT; VERY COLD TEMPS… Tonight will be one of the coldest, if not the coldest, nights of 2020. A Hard Freeze Warning kicks off at midnight for several south Alabama counties as temperatures fall to around the 20 degree mark by daybreak on Saturday. If you haven’t already, be sure to insulate outside pipes that may be prone to bursting, bring in sensitive plants and outdoor pets, and perhaps most importantly, check on folks that may not have adequate heating sources. We will have hard freeze conditions overnight and then another night of below freezing temps Saturday night into Sunday.
HARD FREEZE WARNING… The National Weather Service includes the following counties in south Alabama in a Hard Freeze Warning from midnight to 8AM on Saturday: Choctaw, Washington, Clarke, Monroe, Wilcox, Conecuh, Butler, Crenshaw, Covington, Coffee, Dale, Henry, Houston, and Geneva. These counties are expected to have 8-10 hours of below freezing temperatures with some spots likely to have temperatures near 19-23° by daybreak. We note that Walton, Holmes, Washington (FL), Jackson, and Calhoun counties are included in the Hard Freeze Warning in northwest Florida and the Florida Panhandle region.
SUNNY SATURDAY AND SUNDAY… Sunny skies are expected on both Saturday and Sunday. High temperatures will be near 51 tomorrow with highs rising into the upper-50s and near 60 by Sunday. Our next rain chance is slated to happen on Wednesday.
