MOSTLY CLOUDY TODAY; RAIN LIKELY ON FRIDAY… Clouds will increase across the region on this Thursday ahead of increasing rain chances tonight into Friday. A few showers may become possible this evening after sunset, however much of the rain is expected to happen on Friday. High temperatures today will approach the 70 degree mark in many spots. Don’t get used to the warmer temps though! Tomorrow, highs will be in the mid- to upper-50s with clouds and rain around. Rain will also be possible on Saturday into Sunday morning.

SCATTERED SHOWERS ON FRIDAY; COOLER TEMPS… Scattered areas of rain will increase in coverage across the region early Friday morning in the pre-dawn hours. This continues to look like an event that will feature rain, perhaps some heavy rain at times, with no severe weather issues. There simply won’t be ample atmospheric instability available for storms to work with and become strong. Rain amounts Friday into Saturday will likely be in the 0.25″ to 0.75″ range in most spots. High temperatures on Friday may struggle to get to the 60 degree mark.

SHOWERS POSSIBLE AT TIMES THIS WEEKEND… Rain will continue to be possible on Saturday and on Sunday in the morning hours. Highs this weekend will be in the 50s for the most part with overnight lows in the mid-40s. Sunday afternoon and evening are expected to be drier.

COOL, BUT NOT CRAZY COLD EARLY NEXT WEEK… Looking ahead to next week, the very cold temperatures previously advertised do not appear to be likely anymore across our region. This is good news as many spots were projected to be in the low- to mid-20s by Monday morning. It seems like most spots will be in the upper-30s or low-40s, based on the ongoing model guidance. No snow or mixed precipitation is in the forecast, as of now.

UNSETTLED PATTERN NEXT WEEEK… Monday will likely be dry, but there will likely be a rain chance on both Tuesday and Wednesday as yet another cold front approaches from the northwest. There are some model signals of an approaching stronger cold front toward the end of next week that could usher in colder temps, but confidence in this idea is not solidified as of yet. We’ll keep watching trends over the next few days.
