ANOTHER GORGEOUS, MILD DAY; MORE SUNSHINE IN DAYS AHEAD… If you liked yesterday’s weather, get ready for a “carbon copy” repeat. High temperatures on this Tuesday will be in the low- to mid-70s. Communities like Monroeville, Thomasville, and Greenville will be closer to 70 degrees at 2PM while places closer to the coast like Destin, Navarre, and Orange Beach will be near 73. Full sunshine is expected all day. Tonight, lows will dip into the mid-40s ahead of a warming trend setting up for Wednesday when highs will surge to the upper-70s. Our next chance of rain happens Sunday into Monday as a cold front approaches from the northwest.
PLENTY OF SUNSHINE THROUGH SATURDAY… While the month of March can feature severe storms (we are in the peak of the tornado season through April!), the month can also feature some of the nicest weather we see all year. That is the story through Saturday as we will have plenty of sunshine and mild/warm temperatures. High temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday will surge to near 80 in some locales. Most spots will pass the 80 degree mark on Friday. No rain is expected until the latter half of the weekend and early next week.
RAIN RETURNS SUNDAY INTO MONDAY… Rain and thunderstorms will become likely late Sunday evening into Monday as a cold front approaches from the west. There is a chance for isolated strong to marginally severe thunderstorms, depending on the specific setup. The Storm Prediction Center has outlined multiple severe weather risk zones valid for later this week well to our west across parts of the southern Plains and the Mississippi Valley region. For now, there is not a clear signal our area will have big issues to deal with, however, there could be a few stronger storms in some scenarios. For now, expect rain at times Sunday night into Monday. Next week could feature a more active pattern compared to this week. I’ll keep you posted every step of the way in our RedZone Weather app.
