MAINLY SUNNY & WARM TODAY; NICE WEEKEND AHEAD… Skies will remain mostly sunny on this Thursday. High temperatures will rise to the upper-70s and near 80 in many spots across south Alabama and northwest Florida. I would not be surprised if some locales hit 80 degrees by 2PM today. Winds will continue to be out of the south at 5-10 mph. Looking ahead, we have a gorgeous, warm weekend on tap with highs set to be in the 80s on both Saturday and Sunday with mostly sunny skies through Saturday. Clouds will begin to increase in coverage on Sunday ahead of a rain chance setting up for Sunday night. Rain and thunderstorms will be possible on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of the upcoming week. That is the summary, below are a few more Thursday morning forecast details.

MORE SUNSHINE ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY… The quiet weather pattern we have enjoyed over the last several days is set to continue today, tomorrow (Friday), and on Saturday. High temperatures will be in the upper-70s and near 80 today ahead of temperatures almost certainly at the 80 degree mark in many communities across the region tomorrow. Highs on Saturday will be in the low-80s, making for one of the warmest days so far in 2021.

CLOUDS INCREASE SUNDAY AHEAD OF SHOWERS SUNDAY NIGHT… You will probably notice more clouds in the sky on Sunday, especially in the afternoon and evening hours ahead of increasing rain chances Sunday night into Monday. Highs on Sunday will again be near 80. Breezy conditions are likely Sunday afternoon, with wind gusts as high as 20 mph at times.

RAIN & STORMS AT TIMES MONDAY INTO TUESDAY… Scattered showers return to our forecast Monday with a chance of scattered thunderstorms on Tuesday, extending into Wednesday of the upcoming week. Temperatures will retreat a bit, with most spots likely to be in the 70s. A few storms could briefly be on the strong side, but for now, widespread severe weather seems rather unlikely across the local area.

MULTI-DAY SEVERE WEATHER RISK TO OUR WEST… There is no formal severe weather risk for any part of south Alabama and northwest Florida through Sunday. The Storm Prediction Center has outlined a low-end, Level 1 (out of 5) severe weather risk for parts of Texas and Oklahoma today. Tomorrow, those areas will be under a slightly higher (Level 2) risk. The area of low pressure to the west responsible for this multi-day severe weather risk will very slowly move eastward on Saturday, meaning areas from Oklahoma City southward to the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area could have strong to severe storms around. By Sunday, much of the ArkLaTex region could have severe weather issues. SPC suggests the better dynamics of this weather system will likely pass to the north of our local area on Monday into Tuesday. This likely would limit any widespread, significant severe weather potential for our area.
