NEW TORNADO WATCH FOR NORTHWEST FLORIDA & SOUTHEAST ALABAMA… While the severe weather risk is now a bit lower, the risk is still high enough to warrant a new Tornado Watch. This new Tornado Watch is in effect until 6AM and is valid for Escambia (FL), Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Covington counties locally. Many other counties to our east in southeast Alabama and the Florida Panhandle region are also involved in this new watch. I know many folks in northwest Florida, Covington County, and southeast Alabama have had a nice weather day compared to areas farther northwest where tornadoes happened. Don’t be fooled by the nice day as storms overnight could be severe at times. Damaging wind gusts and a few tornadoes will be possible in the strongest storms.
More updates will be posted in the hours ahead in the RedZone Weather app.
