SCATTERED STORMS TODAY AND OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS… Just like yesterday, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to pop up later this morning and extend into the afternoon and evening hours. High temperatures on this Friday will be in the mid- to upper-80s. Thunderstorms will be scattered in nature, meaning there is a real chance some communities will remain completely dry. Rain totals will be near zero for most spots, but there is a chance your community may pick up approximately one inch of rain in total if you’re under the core of one of the stronger storms. This weekend and early next week will feature identical conditions each day with heat and P.M. storms. A few more Friday morning forecast notes are below.
WARM TEMPS AHEAD… Forget about it if you’re looking for cooler temperatures! We’re now firmly in a summertime weather pattern and will be for the next several months. High temperatures on Saturday and Sunday will be in the upper-80s with morning lows in the 60s. Some of the scattered thunderstorms that bubble up each day will briefly help to alleviate high temperatures, but humidity values will remain high, thus creating a muggy, warm airmass for our entire local area.
TROPICS QUIET… The Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, and north Atlantic Ocean remain quiet. No tropical storms are expected to develop this weekend or early next week. Great news!
