FEW SHOWERS NEAR COAST; DRY & WARMER FOR MOST LOCALES TODAY… Dry, quiet, mild weather is set to continue for most of us across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Tuesday. Rain chances are near zero for inland areas, and fairly low for areas near the coast. We may have a few showers and perhaps a thunderstorm or two develop today near the Alabama and northwest Florida beaches. These showers and storms will be moving west and could bring some brief downpours to communities south of I-10, particularly near the immediate beach zones, today. Severe weather is not expected on this Tuesday. Rain chances will rise across the entire region later this week. The good news is the Gulf of Mexico and all of the Atlantic Basin remains quiet with no tropical storms expected to develop anytime soon. More Tuesday morning forecast details are below.
RAIN POSSIBLE WEDNESDAY P.M. INTO THURSDAY… Rain chances will be at their peak this week on Thursday as a shortwave trough approaches our local area from the west. Showers may develop as early as Wednesday in the evening hours. Any thunderstorms that develop on Thursday will be capable of producing loud thunder, but for now, the severe weather risk remains low as wind shear values remain quite low on the indicated model data. High temperatures on Wednesday and on Thursday will be in the low-80s with morning lows near 60 degrees.
DRIER CONDITIONS RETURN FRIDAY INTO THE WEEKEND… A few showers may be possible Friday morning, but drier conditions are likely in the afternoon and evening hours. The weekend looks fantastic with sunny skies expected on both Saturday and Sunday. Highs will be near 80 each day with morning lows in the mid- to upper-50s.
TROPICS REMAIN QUIET… The Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, and Atlantic Ocean remain quiet with no tropical storms expected to develop over the next several days. We note the long range models are quiet too. Great news!
