SUNNY MONDAY; SEVERE STORMS POSSIBLE THURSDAY… Happy Valentines Day! Plenty of sunshine are expected today and tomorrow ahead of a chance of strong to severe thunderstorms on Thursday as a cold front approaches from the northwest. High temperatures on this Monday will be in the low-60s. Our next chance of rain happens on Wednesday in the afternoon and evening hours when scattered showers will become possible. Strong to severe storms will be possible on Thursday locally as a cold front approaches from the northwest. Tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail will all be potential concerns. Details are still a bit fuzzy as we are still 3 days out from this severe weather setup. Please be sure to check back in over the next few days for further updates on this developing situation. The weekend will be drier and cooler with highs in the 50s. A few more Monday morning #rzw forecast details are below.

SUNNY SKIES TODAY & TOMORROW… Full sunshine is expected on this Monday across south Alabama and northwest Florida. High temperatures will be in the low-60s across the region. Mostly sunny skies are likely tomorrow with highs in the upper-60s. No rain is expected today or on Tuesday.

FEW SHOWERS POSSIBLE P.M. WEDNESDAY… Winds will shift to out of the south by Wednesday morning, meaning Gulf moisture will stream into our local area. This will allow rain showers to start forming on Wednesday in the afternoon and evening hours. Showers will likely remain spotty in nature, thus limiting widespread and significant rainfall. The heavier rain and the severe weather threat will set up on Thursday.

SEVERE WEATHER POSSIBLE THURSDAY… All modes of severe weather (tornadoes, damaging winds, hail, and flash flooding) will be possible on Thursday across much of the Deep South, including in our local area. Right now, it appears the greater risk of severe storms will set up across inland areas of southwest Alabama, meaning Washington, Clarke, and Monroe counties may end up having the highest severe weather risk locally. Keep in mind that future convective outlooks will likely include our entire local area in some form of the severe weather risk zones. It is impossible to pinpoint exactly where each hazard potential will be maximized. I will have more updates in the days ahead on this developing severe weather threat. Please check back in for updates.

COOLER, DRIER WEEKEND… Sunshine is expected during the upcoming weekend with high temperatures likely to be in the 60s. Overnight lows will be in the 30s. Early indications point to a rain-free weekend ahead.
