High temperatures will peak in the upper-70s and near the 80 degree mark today. Sunny skies are expected Thursday and on Friday ahead of rain chances set to return this weekend. Fortunately, I see no signs of any significant severe weather issues in sight. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to be most numerous on Sunday into Monday of the upcoming week.
APRIL 27, 2011 ANNIVERSARY… Today marks the 11th Anniversary of the April 27, 2011 Super Tornado Outbreak that killed 252 Alabamians and injured countless others. The outbreak caused major damage in MANY communities, both large and small, urban and rural, across the northern half of Alabama. I was a college student at the time and I will never forget watching the live severe weather coverage from the historic event. We will never forget the lives that were lost on that Wednesday 11 years ago today.
