DRY DAYS UPCOMING; STORMS RETURN THIS WEEKEND… Mostly sunny and dry conditions are expected this afternoon with high temperatures likely to be in the low- to mid-90s. Sunny, dry days are ahead for Wednesday and Thursday. More rain and scattered thunderstorms will be possible on Friday and into the upcoming weekend as pop-up thunderstorms return to the forecast. Fortunately, as of now, I see no signs of any organized severe weather events or legitimate tropical weather concerns. Highs will be in the 90s over the next few days with morning lows in the 60s.
TROPICS QUIET… The 2022 Atlantic Hurricane Season kicks off on Wednesday, June 1. No tropical storms are expected to form anytime over the next 5-7 days. We note the last several years have featured early season tropical activity in the month of May. We will see if we have a brief spin-up storm in the western Caribbean Sea or southern Gulf in a few weeks. The Global Forecast System (GFS) model has hinted at that possibility, but it certainly is more of a remote idea now. Certainly nothing to stress over or think twice about, for now.
