MORE STORMS AROUND TODAY; LOWER RAIN CHANCES LATER THIS WEEK… Showers and thunderstorms are again expected to pop up across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Tuesday. Severe weather issues remain unlikely and the overall tornado risk across land areas remains at or near zero. The main concerns in any of the thunderstorms that briefly become strong will be gusty winds, heavy rain, and cloud-to-ground lightning. High temperatures today will be in the low-90s.
SLIGHTLY LOWER RAIN CHANCES WEDNESDAY THRU FRIDAY… The atmospheric profile across south Alabama and northwest Florida will feature less in the way of total moisture over the next few days (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday). That does not mean that rain chances will fall to zero, but it does mean we will have LESS in the way of showers and storms across the region. Highs over the next few days will be in the low- to mid-90s with morning lows in the low-70s.
MORE SHOWERS & STORMS THIS WEEKEND… Rain chances will increase as precipitable water values rise across the region on Saturday into Sunday. More in the way of scattered pop-up thunderstorms will be possible this weekend into early next week. No formal severe weather risk is expected, however.
TROPICS QUIET… The Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, and the Atlantic Ocean are quiet with no new tropical storms expected to form over the next 5-7 days. Good news!
