FEW STORMS THIS AFTERNOON; HIGH RAIN CHANCES LATER THIS WEEK… Plenty of sunshine is expected on this Memorial Day Monday, particularly this morning. Pop-up showers and thunderstorms will become possible this afternoon into this evening, mainly across west Alabama. The vast majority of communities across our local area will remain dry. High temperatures will be in the mid- to upper-80s. Rain chances will significantly increase later this week as an area of low pressure passes just to our south in the northern Gulf of Mexico.
DRY TUESDAY; RAIN & STORMS WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY… High temperatures will again be in the mid- to upper-80s tomorrow (Tuesday) ahead of markedly higher rain chances as we get into late Wednesday and Thursday. While the area of low pressure causing the higher rain chances locally is NOT expected to become a named tropical storm, the system will cause multiple rounds of rain and thunderstorms as we get into the latter half of the week. High temperatures will be in the low- to mid-80s on Wednesday and Thursday due to all of the clouds around.
