SCATTERED SEVERE STORMS LIKELY ON THIS SUNDAY; MORE WIND, HAIL, & TORNADO POTENTIAL… All severe weather hazards, including damaging wind gusts, large hail, tornadoes, and flash flooding, will be possible across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Sunday. We are expecting a mesoscale convective system (MCS) to move across our region from west to east. An MCS is a cluster of thunderstorms that usually features damaging wind gusts as the primary threat. In this case, damaging wind gusts as high as 80 mph may be possible in the strongest of the storms. A few tornadoes, large hail, and flash flooding will also be concerns.

SEVERE WEATHER TIMING – TODAY… 9AM to 5PM is the eight hour window when strong to severe thunderstorms will be MOST likely to happen across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Sunday. Please have a way to hear warnings throughout the day!
