P.M. STORMS TODAY; INCREASING TEMPS IN DAYS AHEAD… Pop-up thunderstorms are likely to develop on this Wednesday, primarily in the afternoon and evening hours. Cloud-to-ground lightning, loud thunder, heavy pockets of rain, and gusty winds will be possible in the strongest of the storms. Widespread severe weather issues are not expected today, but some of the storms may be rowdy at times. We have more seemingly identical conditions in the days ahead with P.M. storms, heat, and humidity upcoming into the weekend. Temperatures will increase into the mid-90s by Friday and Saturday.
TROPICS REMAIN QUIET; DISTURBANCE IN NORTH ATLANTIC… The Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea remain quiet with no new tropical storms on the horizon. The National Hurricane Center is keeping track of an area of disturbed weather in the north-central Atlantic Ocean, east of Bermuda. The disturbance has a 40-50% chance of becoming a tropical storm today or tomorrow. Regardless of if the system develops into a named tropical storm, impacts for land areas are not expected.
