HURRICANE IDALIA NOW MOVING INLAND IN THE BIG BEND OF FLORIDA… Hurricane Idalia has come ashore on this Wednesday morning in the Big Bend region of Florida near Keaton Beach. Idalia continues to produce extreme impacts over a wide area in north Florida and southern Georgia. Dangerous storm surge, heavy rain, flooding, tornadoes, and high winds are set to continue over the next several hours across parts of the northern Florida Peninsula. Idalia officially will go in the books as a category 3 hurricane with maximum winds at 125 mph at landfall. This is the first major hurricane to make landfall in the Big Bend region of Florida in the modern era.
