MOSTLY SUNNY TODAY; RAIN LIKELY AT TIMES THIS WEEKEND… Skies will be mostly sunny on this Wednesday with temperatures expected to peak in the mid-60s across the region. Today will be quite similar to yesterday with no rain anywhere close by. Our next chance of rain happens on Friday when showers will become possible farther inland ahead of scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday. Rain will also be possible on Monday ahead of drier, yet colder, conditions coming up for Mardi Gras and Fat Tuesday.

DRY THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING; SHOWERS POSSIBLE P.M. FRIDAY… Mostly sunny conditions will continue today and tomorrow (Thursday) with high temperatures in the 60s. Overnight lows will again be in the upper-30s farther inland tonight with low-40s likely closer to the immediate coast. No rain is expected across the local area until Friday when scattered showers may become possible, particularly across inland areas of southwest Alabama as a frontal boundary slowly sags to the south.

WET AT TIMES THIS WEEKEND… The frontal boundary set to approach our region on Friday will likely stall out just northwest of our area through the weekend, paving the way for multiple rounds of rain and potentially a few thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday. For now, parameters do not look particularly impressive for severe storms, although details on this are still being ironed out and it is a bit too early to give a complete all clear from a severe weather risk this weekend. Sunday, in particular, looks quite wet with a higher chance of a few thunderstorms. High temperatures will be in the low-70s this weekend.

COLDER AIR ARRIVES ON FAT TUESDAY… Rain will continue to be possible on Lundi Gras (Monday) ahead of drier conditions on Fat Tuesday and the height of the Mardi Gras celebration in Mobile and beyond. Highs on Tuesday will only be in the 50s and upper-60s. Overnight lows by Wednesday morning of the upcoming week are expected to be in the mid-30s.
