MOSTLY CLOUDY TODAY; FEW SPRINKLES POSSIBLE… Skies will remain mostly cloudy for much of the day on this Wednesday. High temperatures will continue to be quite warm for mid-April with most spots peaking in the mid-80s by 3PM. A few areas of sprinkles or light rain may become possible today but MOST locales will remain dry. Tomorrow will essentially be a “carbon copy repeat” of today with cloudy skies, warm temperatures, and low rain chances. Thunderstorms are not expected locally today. Our next significant chance of rain and thunderstorms is slated to happen on Sunday.
LOW-END SEVERE WEATHER RISK TO OUR NORTH… The northern half of Alabama, along with much of Tennessee and Kentucky, is involved in a low-end, Level 1 (out of 5) severe weather risk valid for today into tonight. The hazards of concern will be gusty winds and hail. There is no organized, significant tornado risk across north Alabama today. Strong to severe storms will also be possible to the north across parts of Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky today.
CLOUDS TO PERSIST INTO THURSDAY… Mostly cloudy skies are likely to continue into Thursday. High temperatures will once again be in the low- to mid-80s tomorrow. Rain chances will continue to be quite low, but perhaps not completely zero with a few sprinkles and light rain being possible.
WARM TEMPS INTO THE WEEKEND… High temperatures will be in the 80s again on Friday and Saturday. Skies will remain partly to mostly cloudy each day. Rain chances remain near zero on Friday and quite low on Saturday.
RAIN & STORMS POSSIBLE SUNDAY… Our next round of more active weather is slated to happen on Sunday as rain and thunderstorms become likely across south Alabama and northwest Florida. For now, the overall risk of severe weather on Sunday remains quite low, but loud thunderstorms will be possible at times.
