MOSTLY SUNNY TODAY; RAIN & STORMS RETURN THIS WEEKEND… Passing clouds will be possible at times on this Tuesday but most of the region will have mostly sunny skies throughout the day. High temperatures will be in the low-90s. Increasingly hot temperatures are likely later this week with highs likely to be in the mid- to upper-90s by Friday and Saturday. Higher rain chances are slated to happen this weekend into early next week with multiple chances of scattered thunderstorms. We continue to watch a developing plume of tropical moisture set to bring heavy rain to parts of south Florida in the days ahead. Fortunately, a named tropical storm is unlikely to develop in the eastern Gulf due to this feature.
NO NAMED TROPICAL STORMS EXPECTED THIS WEEK… The north Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, and Gulf of Mexico are quiet and will remain quiet over the next few days with no tropical storms expected to develop. There will be a deep plume of tropical moisture that surges into parts of the Florida Peninsula over the next few days but no significant organization is expected to happen in terms of a named tropical system forming. Parts of south Florida may receive upwards of 10 to 15 inches of total rainfall over the next week.
