HEAT INDEX VALUES TO BE IN THE 105-115° RANGE MONDAY AND TUESDAY AFTERNOONS… While the air temperatures across south Alabama and northwest Florida will be in the mid-90s on Monday and Tuesday, the excessive humidity will make the air feel quite a bit hotter. Heat index values as high as 105°, 110°, and a few 115° readings will be possible in the afternoon and early evening hours.
P.M. POP-UP STORMS EACH DAY THIS WEEK… We will be tracking pop-up thunderstorms across the region tomorrow as well, particularly in the P.M. hours. Isolated storms will be capable of producing localized downpours, loud thunder, cloud-to-ground lightning, and gusty winds in the strongest of the storms. Widespread severe storms are not expected.
TROPICS QUIET DOWN… All of the tropical hotspots we have been tracking over the last several days (Alberto in the southwestern Gulf, INVEST 93L also in the southwestern Gulf, and INVEST 92L that moved into Georgia) have now dissipated. The tropics are expected to remain quiet this week.
