STORMS AROUND TODAY, BUT NOT AS MANY AS PREVIOUS DAYS; THU. & FRI. HOT TEMPS… Scattered thunderstorms will be possible today across the region but I am not expecting AS many thunderstorms as compared to yesterday. Not every community will have rain today but some inevitably will. We have a slightly drier pattern setting up tomorrow and Friday now that the tropical plume of moisture is filtering out of our region. There still may be a few widely scattered storms around tomorrow but most spots will remain dry. High temperatures today will be in the low- to mid-90s with heat index values as high as 105°.
SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS TODAY; DRIER OVERALL TOMORROW… Thunderstorms will be more numerous today compared to tomorrow and Friday when our local area will have a drier pattern overall. High temperatures will be in the mid-90s tomorrow and Friday.
P.M. STORMS LIKELY AT TIMES THIS WEEKEND… Rain chances will increase somewhat as we get into Saturday and Sunday when scattered showers and thunderstorms will again become possible. High temperatures this weekend will be in the mid-90s with morning lows in the mid-70s.
TROPICS TO REMAIN QUIET FOR NEXT SEVERAL DAYS… The Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, and Atlantic Ocean are quiet with no new tropical storms expected to develop over the next several days. The Saharan Air Layer (SAL) is quite pronounced across the central and eastern parts of the Atlantic Ocean right now. This dry, dusty layer of air in the atmosphere helps to prohibit tropical storms from developing.
