SCATTERED STORMS AGAIN TODAY… Scattered, “splash and dash” showers and thunderstorms will continue to be possible throughout the day on this Tuesday. MOST (not all, but most) of the showers and thunderstorms will happen in the 11AM to 8PM timeframe. Widespread severe storms remain highly unlikely, but storms will be capable of producing loud thunder, cloud-to-ground lightning, localized downpours of heavy rain, and gusty winds in the strongest of the storms. High temperatures will be in the upper-80s today. Rain chances remain elevated today and tomorrow as a frontal boundary remains nearby and is serving as a focal point for showers and storms to develop.
MORE SEASONAL (SLIGHTLY LOWER) RAIN CHANCES LATER THIS WEEK… Afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms will continue to be possible later this week and into the upcoming weekend. Rain chances will be in the 50-60% chance range each day as opposed to the 70-80% chance range like today and tomorrow.
TROPICS REMAIN QUIET… The Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, and Atlantic Ocean are quiet with no tropical storms expected to develop over the next 5-7 days. The climatological peak of the Atlantic Hurricane Season happens on September 11. Hurricane season officially ends on November 30.
