SCATTERED P.M. STORMS TODAY; HIGHER RAIN CHANCES TOMORROW & THURSDAY… Rain chances will be slightly higher this afternoon into this evening compared to yesterday with more in the way of scattered showers and thunderstorms being possible across the region. High temperatures will again be in the low- to mid-90s. Rain and thunderstorms will be increasingly likely as we get into Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday partially due to a stalled frontal boundary in the vicinity of our area. This will be a beneficial, multi-day rain event.
TROPICS: AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IN NORTHWESTERN GULF… The area of disturbed weather in the northwestern Gulf will not develop into a named tropical storm. The National Hurricane Center has downgraded development probabilities to near zero. Rain and occasional thunderstorms will continue to be possible over the next day or two due to this system in the western Gulf.
TROPICS: TROPICAL WAVE IN EASTERN CARIBBEAN SEA… The tropical wave in the east-central Caribbean Sea that continues to move west has a 40% chance of becoming a named tropical storm when the system is in the central or western Caribbean Sea later this week or this weekend. Conditions ahead of the system are marginally more favorable for development, but it remains to be seen exactly where this system ultimately ends up. Most of the model guidance has trended toward a path that would bring the system into the Yucatan Peninsula this weekend. Beyond that, uncertainty looms large. At this point, there is no imminent threat to the USA from this system.
