COOL NIGHTS & MORNINGS; MILD DAYS LATER THIS WEEK INTO WEEKEND… Much of the focus in the weather world is on category 5 Hurricane Milton (and rightfully so!), but I don’t want to forget about our good news in south Alabama and northwest Florida slated to happen over the next several days. Overnight lows will be progressively cooler in the nights ahead. Most spots will be in the low- to mid-50s for overnight lows by Saturday morning! Afternoon highs on Friday and Saturday will be in the upper-70s and low-80s. There are early signs that a cold front will knock down temperatures into the low-70s for afternoon highs around a week from now, perhaps with lows in the 40s. I’ll be watching trends on that over the next few days and will bring you the latest in the morning videos and in the RedZone Weather app.
NO DIRECT LOCAL IMPACTS FROM HURRICANE MILTON; NO TROPICAL TROUBLE LOCALLY… No significant, direct impacts are expected due to Hurricane Milton in Alabama or northwest Florida. Much of the week will be sunny and dry locally with cooler temperatures expected later this week. There will be a high risk of rip currents and high waves at the Alabama and Florida beaches through the end of the week and perhaps into the weekend as well. Let me emphasize as well that we have no tropical trouble in the forecast for the next 6-8 days. I see nothing consistent in the model data that would point to that. Good news!
I will have more updates posted in the RedZone Weather app tonight and tomorrow. My next regularly scheduled forecast video will be posted by 7:15AM. Have a nice Tuesday evening!
