WARM DAYS AHEAD; WATCHING THE TROPICS… Plenty of sunshine is expected across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Thursday. High temperatures will again make a run at the 90 degree mark across the region as temperatures remain well above average. We continue to monitor the developing area of low pressure in the western Caribbean Sea, but unfortunately questions are more prevalent than answers at this point as to what/where the system will be. There’s good news, however, for high school football on Friday. Let’s talk details…

30% CHANCE OF DEVELOPMENT IN CARIBBEAN… The National Hurricane Center says there is a 30 percent chance that the developing area of low pressure in the Caribbean Sea becomes a tropical storm this weekend. Model guidance is still all over the board, in that we still don’t have a good answer of how strong this system will be or where it will end up. No need to panic or worry as there are still way too many uncertainties and unknowns at this point. We’ll keep watching the model data and bring you the very latest, both here on Facebook and in the RedZone Weather app (redzoneweather.com/app is the link for the free download).

DRIER OVERALL TODAY & FRIDAY… You’ll see some cumulus clouds in the sky this afternoon, but you probably won’t see rain. There’s only a very small (<10%) chance of rain throughout the day on this Thursday. Rain chances will be even lower on Friday. A large ridge of high pressure is keeping our weather pattern hot, dry, with light winds out of the east. Temperatures will peak near 90 in each of the next few afternoons.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS PREVIEW… This will be the driest Friday night we’ve had so far this season. Rain chances will be basically at zero across the region. Kickoff temperatures at 7PM will be around 79, falling to around 73 by the 4th quarter at many of the game sites.

See all the details in your Thursday #rzw forecast video… Enjoy the day!
