STREAK OF SUNNY, NICE DAYS AHEAD… A cold start this morning is kicking off a streak of sunny, nice days starting today and lasting through at least Tuesday. Most of us are starting in the upper-40s and near 50° this morning. High temperatures across south Alabama and northwest Florida will be around 70° this afternoon, although with a brisk wind out of the northwest, it will feel pretty cool throughout the day.
HOPE IN THE MIDDLE OF CHAOS… The featured photo this morning is of the sunset view I captured earlier this week in Mexico Beach, Florida. The people of the Florida Panhandle, southeast Alabama, and southwest Georgia continue to recover, but they need our love, encouragement, and our support in the weeks and months ahead.
OSCAR IN THE ATLANTIC… Subtropical Storm Oscar formed last night in the open waters of the central Atlantic Ocean. The system will drift around the central Atlantic, well north of the Leeward Islands and east of Bermuda, in the days ahead. No land impacts are expected due to Oscar.
ALL SUNSHINE THROUGH TUESDAY… Sunshine in the day and clear skies at night will highlight our weather pattern through Tuesday. We warm to around 81° by Monday in the afternoon hours. No weather issues are expected through Tuesday.
NEXT CHANCE OF RAIN MIDWEEK… We’ll call it a 10-20% chance of rain on Wednesday with a 70% chance of rain on Thursday as yet another cold front gets ready to pass by our area from northwest to southeast. At the moment, the parameters for severe weather remain low, although anytime we have a situation like this with a cold front passage in the fall months, we have to monitor carefully. Be sure to check back for updates in the days ahead.
NEXT UPDATE… Since our weather pattern is (finally) a bit quieter, updates will be a bit more infrequent than usual this weekend in the RedZone Weather app. My next forecast video will be posted by 4PM on Sunday.
Have a great weekend!
