COOL, CLOUDY SUNDAY; COOL WEEK AHEAD… Low clouds remain in place across south Alabama and northwest Florida after the showers we had last evening. Temperatures are in the 50s in most spots across our region as of early afternoon. Most spots are on track to hit the mid-50s for an afternoon high. Sunshine returns on Monday ahead of a calm, quiet, cool weather week ahead. Our next rain chance happens late in the week into the first half of the upcoming weekend. Let’s talk details…
COOL TEMPS ARE THE HEADLINE… Rain is gone, clouds will linger today into tonight, and the cool temperatures we have in place will be the main headline over the next 48-72 hours. Overnight lows by Monday morning will be in the 30s across the region before a chilly Monday with high temps only in the mid-50s. Winds won’t be howling but a 5-10mph wind out of the northwest will make the air temperature feel slightly cooler than it actually is on Monday into Monday night. Keep the jackets handy!
NEXT RAIN CHANCE LATE THURSDAY… An area of low pressure will approach our area from the west on Friday, meaning rain chances will rise late Thursday into Friday. For now, severe weather seems unlikely. Our next chance of storms will happen on Saturday. There are a lot of question marks at this point as to whether atmospheric instability will be sufficient enough to support strong storms or any storms at all. We’ll keep you posted about this in the RedZone Weather app over the next few days.
