SEVERE WEATHER RISK CONTINUES… So far, we’ve only had one severe thunderstorm warning in northern Clarke County earlier this afternoon. No tornado warnings thus far! There will continue to be a slight risk of damaging straight line winds and isolated tornadoes over the next few hours in the stronger storms that develop. The severe weather risk will come to an end from west to east today, and it won’t be long before we start giving the first “all clear” messages for parts of west Alabama.
WINDY, WET DAY CONTINUES… Heavy rain has been training over the same areas in west Alabama’s Washington and Clarke counties over the last few hours. Flash Flood Warnings continue for much of Washington, Choctaw, and Clarke counties. Scattered bouts of heavy rain are happening to the east of this main complex of storms. Strong winds have been observed across the region over the last few hours, including some gusts up to 40 and 50 mph near the coast. These strong winds will continue over the next few hours and will shift from out of the northwest once the cold front moves by your location.
