EARTHQUAKE UPDATE… The U.S. Geological Survey is investigating seismometers around the Southeast to determine exactly what happened earlier today (Monday, March 11, 2019) around 1:37PM when another apparent earthquake happened near Jay, Florida. I just got off the phone with USGS Geophysicist Paul Caruso, who indicated that he is now actively investigating the situation. WHAT WE KNOW AS OF 3:47PM… Many people around Jay, Mt. Carmel, Flomaton, Century, Welka, Foshee, Wolflog, Pollard, Keego, Riverview, East Brewton, and the southern part of Brewton reported ground shaking for several seconds with an accompanying loud “boom.” The map attached depicts this area.
