PERFECT SATURDAY WEATHER; RAIN ON MONDAY… Talk about a glorious weekend! We’ve got sunshine upcoming today and on Sunday with temperatures that will peak in the upper-70s each day. It just doesn’t get much better. Showers and thunderstorms will return to our region on Monday afternoon and evening as a cold front approaches from the west. Thanks to Melissa McMillan with RedZone Weather sponsor Hope Realty & Development for her view from Conecuh County. Let’s look at a few details about what you can expect in the days ahead…
SUNNY SATURDAY & SUNDAY… Most spots are starting off in the 40s this morning. We will quickly rise into the mid-60s by late morning. Afternoon highs peak around 78° in most spots today and on Sunday. No rain is expected through Monday morning, although cloud coverage will likely increase from west to east on Sunday evening.
SHOWERS & STORMS MONDAY… Scattered showers and thunderstorms will return to south Alabama and northwest Florida during the afternoon and evening hours of Monday. The overall severe weather risk remains very low. The latest Quantitative Precipitation Forecast shows all of our area included in the 0-0.5” total rain zone for this event. There will probably be some spots that don’t have rain with this event as showers and storms will be scattered. Highs on Monday will peak around the 80 degree mark.
RAIN MOVES OUT MONDAY NIGHT… Rain and storms will taper off likely before 2AM on Tuesday. Cooler, drier air will filter in behind the cold front that moves by late in the evening on Monday.
ANOTHER SLEW OF NICE DAYS… After the cold front moves by Monday night, quite a few nice, cool days are expected Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of the upcoming week. High temperatures will peak near 70° each day with lows in the 40s.
NEXT RAIN CHANCE: FRIDAY… After the round of rain earlier in the week (Monday into Monday night), our next rain chance will happen Friday into Saturday (one week from today). Still too early to know whether storms will be an issue, but we’ll keep our eyes on this next “weathermaker.”
